If something isn't answered here, the discovery call is the right place to bring it. There are no wrong questions, only the ones worth asking before you commit to something this significant.
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest systems of medicine, originating in India over 5,000 years ago. It's built on the understanding that every person has a unique mind-body constitution, called a Dosha, and that health is achieved by living in alignment with that constitution and with the rhythms of nature. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Ayurveda looks at the whole person: how you eat, sleep, move, manage stress, and relate to your environment. Think of it as a deeply personalized operating system for your body.
A growing body of research supports many of Ayurveda's core principles, particularly around circadian rhythm, gut health, stress physiology, and the mind-body connection. Many of the practices Ayurveda has recommended for centuries are now being validated by modern longevity and functional medicine research. Lisa approaches Ayurveda through both its traditional wisdom and its alignment with contemporary science, particularly in the areas of metabolic health and healthspan optimization.
None at all. Most clients come with little to no background. Your onboarding includes a thorough Dosha assessment and a foundation session that gives you everything you need to understand your constitution and why it matters. Many clients find that Ayurveda simply gives language to things they've intuitively sensed about themselves for years.
Ayurvedic health coaching and functional medicine complement each other beautifully. Where functional medicine focuses on testing, diagnosis, and treatment, Ayurveda focuses on how you live, your daily rhythms, food choices, movement, seasonal practices, and your relationship with your environment. Many of Lisa's clients work with both simultaneously. If you already have a functional medicine practitioner, this work will deepen and support what you're doing there, not compete with it.
Intentionally few. Cultivating Wellness programs are designed to be a high-touch, deeply personal partnership, and that requires keeping the client list small. Lisa accepts a limited number of new members each year so that every client receives her full attention and expertise.
Life happens, and this partnership is built to accommodate it. Sessions are recorded and can be watched later with advance notice. The goal is consistency over time, not perfection week to week.
Not at all. Many members come in feeling functional but not optimal; they're managing well on the outside but know their energy, sleep, digestion, or stress resilience could be significantly better. Ayurveda is as much about optimization and longevity as it is about addressing imbalance. You don't need to struggle to benefit deeply from this work.
The retreat is a four-day immersive experience held each fall at a private estate, this year in Western North Carolina. It's intentionally intimate, no more than ten women, and designed to be the emotional and experiential centerpiece of the membership year. Expect Ayurvedic programming, individual treatments, shared meals, and the kind of unhurried conversation that's hard to find anywhere else. You'll leave with an updated wellness plan and a cohort of women who understand the work you're doing.
The retreat location is selected each year with care, private, beautiful, and appropriate to the season. Details are shared with confirmed members well in advance of the October dates.
Yes. The retreat is an exclusive benefit of the Annual Wellness Membership and is not open to the public. This keeps the cohort intentional and the experience intimate.
I work with a small number of women each year in a deeply personal partnership. If you’re ready to find out whether we’d be a good fit, the first step is a conversation.
